The 80's The Years of Disco
In the late part of the 70's and early 80's I [Pastor Howard AD] was busy getting a street education in the latest disco moves. A friend who had recently become a born-again christian hijacked me one night and took me to church. Needless to say that one church service changed my life. I came to realize the enormity of my sin and that my religion was repellant to God. I prayed a simple prayer that night, repenting of my sins and received Jesus as my personal Savior. In 1989 I responded to God's call on my life and pioneered a church in Liverpool NSW. After 6 six years there I followed the call of God into Evangelism. During that time I preached in the US, UK, USSR, Germany, Malaysia, Fiji, Singapore, New Zealand and throughout Most of Australia. After 6 years as an Evangelist I followed God's call in taking a pastorate in Box Hill Victoria. We recently moved to Nunawading and look forward to seeing God move at our current location in Nunawading.
Recently the fellowship here in Victoria hosted its inaugural full Victorian conference with Pastor Wayman Mitchell and Pastor Paul Stephens. Next year the guest speaker will be Pastor Joe Campbell. It was a hosted by the PH Footscray and at the end of the week of conference 3 international churches were planted and two local churches as well. It was a blessing to spend some time with Pastor Wayman Mitchell who was my original pastor.
Our Faith
A Global Vision
It was the local churches that won the world as in the book of Acts. As they did, Paul the Apostle was able to say that all of Asia had been reached. It is with this same desire to fulfill the Mandate of 'Go Ye into all the World' that we believe that God has given the local church everything it needs to fulfill that mandate. That vision belongs solely to the local church and as it rises to the call, God raises up a standard in this lost generation.
At the heart of this is Discipleship. Even though the term has been used to mean a great number of different thing, it is still a real process where men rise up in a local church setting, and answer the call of God. The Local trains, disciplines and equips these men to a place where they are released to fulfill God's will in their lives.
All of this is done with the full support of the local church and their peers. Although autonomous in their call, they continue to stay submitted to their pastor and come under the authority of their local church. It is this Bible based principle that has seen one church multiply into over 1400 churches world wide.
